Advancing partnerships & resourcing; Effectively influencing for impact & scale:

With the lead of CPM, UN Women Somalia successfully mobilized two-year budget (300K) for Geder Theme Group from UN Agencies for allocation of budgets through cost-shared budgets for GTG 2024 work plan priorities. On behalf of the UN GTG, UNW CPM presented the concept note and requested for allocation of cost-shared budgets by the United Nations in Somalia. Following deliberations and presentation of key priorities by UN Women the OMT cleared the proposal.

Advancing business transformation:

In line with the Secretary-General's recommendation for the UN common premises and aligned to the UN Women corporate strategy, UN Women Somalia Office worked closely with the UN partners in construction of a secure, cost efficient hard wall office building in UNSOS phase 6 premises with a total cost of approx.100K. UNW Somalia Programme office have fully moved to the common premises jointly occupied by (UNFPA, UNW, UNCDF and UNOCHA) at UNSOS on the first quarter of 2024. However, due to the office expansion and recruitment of more staff, there is need of more space to be procurement/constructed. Nurturing an empowered workforce and advancing an inclusive UN-Women culture :

With the support and guidance from ESARO office, UNW Somali recruited International and national positions (including consultant and UNV), there is also ongoing recruitment of Country Programme Manager which hopefully to be completed Q1 2025 All UN Women Staff complete their 2024 PMD on time as well as Service Contract performance evaluation. Most of the staff(including newly recruited) have completed the mandatory courses. However, few staff are working toward completion next Q1 2025 (see attached report from AGORA)

Effective normative, programmatic and coordination products, services and processes: UN-Women efficiently and effectively discharges of all business processes that advance integrated delivery of its mandate at HQ, Regional and Country levels, including through shared services.

UNW Somalia prepared a consolidated Procurement Plan reviewed by Operations Manager and approved by Country Programme Manage and will be uploaded to Quantum. However, Due to lack of DoA to UNW Somalia office, all Procurement process are handling by UNW ESARO Procurement unit and all procurement requests were immediate processed with the timeline.
