    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

More women increase their access to opportunities for the generation of more stable income and sustainable livelihoods.

In 2024, 19 new signatories companies joined the WEPs community from Argentina, reaching a number of 283 WEPs signatories in 2024 that committed themselves to promote gender equality as an integral policy alonside companies' operations. Besides, 2 new companies (BSG and Mondelez) joined as members the Unstereotype Alliance (UA) National Chapter in 2024. In the framework of the Womek Project, 91% of the indigenous and rural women from three provinces of the Gran Chaco Region (Chaco, Formosa and Salta) reported that they perceived an increase of sales due to the support received through projec implementation. Moreover, 93% of the surveyed women reported that they could maintain their business open today. 76.1% of women used virtual wallets as a financial tool, reflecting a broad adoption of technology within the program. This data is relevant because it shows how training in digital and financial tools allowed participants to access more modern and efficient systems for managing their income and payments. Through the Womek project, 471 women implemented 40 business plans with USD 2.500 grants with support from UN Women and 10 cooperatives and associations, linked to value chains such as handicrafts, carob production, small-scale goat farming, agroforestry, and sewing, accessed USD 10,000 in funding and implemented business plans to collaboratively improve their ventures, benefiting more than 150 other women. Finally, 3 women leaders from these groups were elected to the governing board of their broader community, reaching a crucial role in the management and control of land resources. Another important outcome achieved in 2024 in the province of Buenos Aires, is that 73 young women from the Municipality of Ezeiza acceded to educational and employment opportunities through the "Girls with Future" project implemented by UN Women in partnership with the SES Foundation. More women increase their access to opportunities for the generation of more stable income and sustainable livelihoods.

Indigenous and Creole women asociations from the Gran Chaco territory improved their digital skills and their access to financing, with the support of ONU Mujeres. This improvement will contribute to the scaling of businesses in the territory and therefore to the economic autonomy of each of them and their associative structures. In these areas, the weak presence of the State is reflected in poor access to quality health and education, as well as electricity, gas and sewage services, and inadequate infrastructure (including health care services), connectivity and water collection and distribution. Women represent half of the population (50.8%), but hardly participate in decision-making.The needs of the territory and its development possibilities are disseminated through advocacy and communication strategies of the Womek project and the collection of life stories and impact of the training. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Kt_zukkUV1CbdWgJdry0mNvF-l-DO3Cm/edit#gid=2011359638 y https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CNf68X5bj_bQ_eBmdWmawAWgXKY-AusxDISZEqXqFwg/edit#gid=0 During 2023, 20 companies signed the WEPs, making 256 signatories in total in Argentina. The project of Unstereotype Alliance in Argentina was also a platform to attract new WEPs signatories and to provide companies with a concrete possibility to add value in their value chain. In its second year of life Unstereotype Alliance in Argentina strehnghened a network integrated by private sector key actors taking collective action to avoid harmful stereotypes in the advertising industry. Members of Unstereotype Alliance include Unilever, Avon, Alurralde Jasper, SAP, Globant, Mastercard and Mondelez. Cámara Argentina de Anunciantes (CAA) and Mujeres en Publicidad (MEP) are strategic allies. https://dossiernet.com/articulo/la-alianza-sin-estereotipos-y-onu-mujeres-presentaron-un-diagnostico-sobre-la-situacin-actual-de-las-publicidades-en-argentina/33048 https://www.clarin.com/opinion/Cambiar-cambie_0_H1hxFJfjDQg.html
