    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

By 2027, more Burundians, especially the most vulnerable, benefit from a strengthened governance system and a more diversified and inclusive economy, including through regional integration

In 2024, a total of 7,466 people, including 6,667 women, benefited from various support initiatives aimed at income-generating activities in agricultural value chains. Among them, 6682 people, including 5588 women and 1094 men benefited around, 516,498,360 BIF that has been disbursed to support their initiatives. The microfinances institutions involved were. Dukuze Microfinance, WISE, and CECM and the Investment and Development Bank for Women.to support their projects, with high loan repayment rates: 88% through Dukuze Microfinance, 98% through WISE, and 95% through CECM. Notably, 74% of loan recipients were women, many of whom are expanding their activities and accessing larger loans. Additionally, 4,399 people (4,238 women and 161 men) from 132 groups strengthened their skills in cultivating fortified organic beans, market gardening, and rabbit farming, applying this knowledge at different crop stages. The income generated helps them afford education, food, clothing, and other essential items, and many are now more confident in leadership roles, even participating in elections. Despite these achievements, only 21% of women and 5.7% of men are engaged in agroindustry. These figures highlight the limited involvement of Burundian women and girls in poverty-reducing interventions, necessitating continued resource mobilization to increase the number of beneficiaries.
