UN Women has set up water and hygiene infrastructure, where 35,000 vulnerable people (forcibly displaced, returnees and host communities) have access to quality basic social services, including water, hygiene and sanitation. The health and social protection of the 900 victims of GBV in Birao, Sam-Ouandja and Paoua-Betoko are provided by UN Women through psychosocial support and the distribution of dignity kits to victims of GBV. This multifaceted support from UN Women has enabled these victims in the project localities to regain their dignity in order to overcome their shocks. There is also support in the field of food security and social protection for more than 3375 vulnerable groups. Vulnerable communities in the project areas have seen improved access to livelihoods thanks to UN Women's support through the implementation of the project to promote food self-sufficiency in the targeted communities.
