    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

CAR office effectively leverages and expands its innovative partnerships, communications, and advocacy capabilities to increase support for and financing of the gender equality agenda, while securing sustainable resourcing for the delivery of its own mandate

In implementing this Strategic Note 2023 - 2027, the UN Women Central African Republic office, as guarantor of gender equality and women's empowerment, contributes to an ecosystem of coordination, governance and management mechanisms with the government, technical and financial partners, UN agencies and civil society, particularly women. Despite the multi-sectoral challenges of coordinating with governments and civil society to promote gender equality and integrating gender issues into national policies, the UN Women office in the Central African Republic has been able to mobilize USD 6,957,710.96 from 2023 to 2024, and is starting 2025 with USD 5,771,021.00 in funding to promote equality in CAR. However, the GAP remains enormous, as the Strategic Note estimates that USD 38,772,941.89 would be needed to enable the Republic to address gender equality issues.

CAR office effectively leverages and expands its innovative partnerships, communications, and advocacy capabilities to increase support for and financing of the gender equality agenda, while securing sustainable resourcing for the delivery of its own mandate

The office makes effective use of its innovative partnerships, communications and advocacy capabilities to strengthen resource mobilization for gender equality and women's empowerment.
