    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

By 2026, populations, in different agro-ecological zones, including youth, women and socially vulnerable groups, live in a healthier environment, sustainably manage environmental resources, including biodiversity, and are more resilient to disaster and climate change shocks. (Outcome 4 /UNSDCF)

In 2024, UN Women provided technical support to the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development to enable the development of the draft Gender strategy in the Decentralization sector. The technical validation of this document is envisaged soonest to support other sectorial ministeries to facilitate the decentralisation process. The support provided to MINDDEVEL to the development of the strategy was to ensure that gender issues are coherently integrated into local policies and projects, and specifically into development plans at regional and municipal levels. It is important to note that this strategy, among other points, gives orientation as per the environment and natural resource management in the framework of the competences transferred to the decentralized territorial entities (CTD) by the State, for the improvement of living conditions of the populations at the grassroots in an inclusive manner.
