    Increased engagement of partners in support of UN Women’s mandate

    Visibility of UN Women in DRC during 2021 included these actions: Media mentions of UN Women in national press was constant in 2021, with 10-15 articles each trimester. The participation of the communication team in several missions with WPP resulted in a better media coverage, as well as production of photo albums for published on the Africa Social Flickr account. The last trimester saw a rise to more than 75 mentions, which can be explained by a surge in the number of high-profile activities organized ( PADMPME Launch, WPP training and missions,...) as well as the 16 days against Gender-based violence. An additional 30 articles about GBV were published by media partners during the campaign. Media coverage can be found in the HQ media spreadsheets and attached. Social media showed overall increased with more 2000 new followers on Twitter and more than 1400 new fans on Facebook, which is a 50% increase in new fans from 2020. The second year of the Twitter account saw increases on all metrics: impressions, likes and engagement. Facebook saw a decrease in the same metrics, which can be explained by fewer posts published. Overall the inbound sentiment for both accounts remains positive. Detailed data can be found attached. Generation equality campaign has been a key communication asset. Tshirts were produced and distributed largely also in the Provinces. The 2022 calendar with photos from various projects and activities implemented in 2021 also serves as the annual report. Ad Hoc communication and visibility product were designed for activities and international celebrations ( banners campaign, roll-ups, ...) Branding for the new sub-office in Tshikapa, Kasaï was installed. New staff members received induction on communication and visibility, which included a presentation of the tools and best practices. The communication team also participated in the monthly WCARO comms meetings and UNCG, supporting the organization of UN Day activities.     The DRC country office has made step to improve its staffing or course in increasing national personnel members but we are tageting to increase international staff to reinforce workforce. The office has been granted with two NLRA trhough MSB and Norcap and some international UNVs through fullyfunded approach.
