Enhanced coordination, coherence and accountability of the UN system for commitments to gender equality and women's empowerment
Coordination and accountability of UNCT commitment towards gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) was enhance through the leadership of UN Women as CO-chairs of GTG with UNFPA and in close coordination with RCO. In 2024, the GTG has made significant progress in advancing UN personnel knowledge on GEWE through BrownBag Session “Care Economy” on June 28 th and “Gender Mainstreaming in the National Mid-Term Development Plan” on September 23 rd . Additionally, the accountability of commitment towards GEWE was also captured during the Q3 quarterly GTG meeting on September 6 th , where several feedback and comments were discussed with RCO to strengthen gender-mainstreaming in the new CCA draft. Furthermore, the GTG has also collaboratively reviewed and assessed the gender and Leave No One Behind (LNOB) analysis in the UNSDCF 2021-2025 evaluation report, which have provided the evaluator with feedback to improve the quality of the evaluation report.

Under the coordination of RCO, commitment towards GEWE in the UNCT was shown through collaboration with Gender Thematic Working Group (GTG). Through active leadership of UN Women and UNFPA in the GTG as well as PSEAH, inter-agency joint efforts successfully shown meaningful contribution towards the advancement of GEWE at the country team. A GTG collaborative session was conducted in 2023, which aimed to support the Results Group in developing gender-related results paragraph for the UNSDCF annual report. GTG meeting, conducted in October 2023, also became an opportunity for UN Agencies to collaborate together in decision-making for UN-wide gender-related issues. In addition, the enhanced coordination occurred to also support measuring and reporting gender results captured in the Gender Equality Scorecard, as well as supporting DMEL group in gender-sensitive monitoring and reporting by facilitating the DMEL training in collaboration with DMEL group.

In 2021, UN Women is able to facilitate and Gender Theme Working Group (GTWG) meetings focusing on the revision of the Working Group TOR and Gender Scorecard and CEDAW Reporting Process, in addition to that, with UN Women support as co-chair of UN GTWG, annual progress report on Gender Scorecard was submitted, highlighting 6 Performance Indicators that are progressing from the previous year, namely on communication and advocacy, partnership with Government and CSOs, Gender Parity and resource monitoring and tracking. With UN Women leadership Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) is supported to organizer refresher training on Gender Equality Marker (GEM).

UNCT-SWAP Gender Scorecard, PSEAH Working Group, and Gender Thematic Working Group has been led actively by UN Women to ensure gender-mainstreaming and accountability within the UN system.
