People in Iraq have strengthened capacity, enabling inclusive access to and engagement in economic activities
During the reporting period UN Women completed a comprehensive analytical and strategic planning exercise and initiated resource mobilization efforts focused on the implementation of women' economic empowerment (WEE) projects. The implementation of Outcome activities has been rescheduled for 2023 pending the results of resource mobilization and allocation of financial resources for project implementation.

People in Iraq, particularly women, have strengthened capacities enabling inclusive access to and engagement in economic activities. A total of 366 women benefited from targeted economic empowerment initiatives, including 100 women in Diyala who received grants to start small businesses, 124 women in Abu Ghraib who launched businesses after vocational training, and 142 women who participated in internships with eco-friendly businesses. These interventions equipped participants with practical skills and financial assets, creating sustainable pathways for economic participation and improving livelihoods

UN women in the reporting year reached more than 4,000 women to promote social protection and skills development, incluidng placement and private sector support
