During the reporting year, UN Women advanced GEWE, influenced partnerships, and garnered support towards GEWE. Significant media visibility with over 500 mentions across top media outlets including coverage which spanned top-tier television networks, including Arise News , Silverbird TV , TVC , NTA , and Channels TV, with special appearances by the UN women representative during key events like the 16 Days of Activism and other international observances, such as the International Day of Rural Women , radio stations such as FRCN, Voice of Nigeria, and Hot FM, along with leading print publications like Daily Independent, This Day, The Sun, Daily Trust, Vanguard, Guardian, and Blueprint , were all critical partners inn advanceing GEWE through their prominent features of UN Women’s activities and achievements financing strategies, to drive the implementation of gender-responsive policies and programs through #FinancingSDG5 , UN Women also expanded its social media presence, gaining over 8,000 followers across platforms. Our social media reach peaked at a record 2.5 million, with the majority of this reach stemming from organic interactions.

During the reporting year,the CO advanced partnerships and influenced non-traditional partners to support gender equality and women's empowerment. Further, the CO increased private sector investment in GBV through the innovative $25 million private-sector GBV fund aimed at eliminating violence against women and girls. The CO further sustained its media engagement as well as other strategic engagements, including initial engagements with the government of Nigeria towards a "financing for gender equality summit" to expand resources towards gender equality and women empowerment.
