Effective UN system coordination to promote accountability to deliver on gender equality and women’s empowerment
Philippines Programmes Office has supported and played a key role in the very first UNCT Gender SWAP Scorecard Assessment which surfaced several elements that requires streamlined action from the UNCT level to articulate and translate it commitment to actions in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. UN Women team also took part and contributed to the drafting of the new common country analysis looking at how gender dimensions should be reflected in the various critical areas identifie d . We also submitte d an analytical piece on gender which will form part of the CCA , contents of which were result of various consultations and conversations with stakeholders. Leveraging on UN Women's coordination function, we have seen results in the following areas: UNCT Level Forwarded concrete recommendations as part of the Action Plans linked to the Gender SWAP Scorecard assessment; Led the drafting and submission of observations to the CEDAW Committe and UPR Began coordinating key actions and work for GiHA

UN Women continued to promote gender equality and women's empowerment through active involvement in the Gender thematic group within the UN system to work with and mainstream gender accross UN units and agencies. With regular representation in UNCT meetings, consistently delivering important call to promote women's empowerment and gender equality in all engagements of the United Nations within and across government agencies, whether local and national level. UN Women through the PBF Phase 3 project was able to facilitate improved coordination among key players under the Peace Pillar. Through constant dialogues and regular meeting updates, duplication of work interventions among geographic areas and project beneficiaries were avoided. Through UN Women's sustained advocacy, the inclusion of a gender lens in local conflict analyses was also championed.

Provision of high level high-level technical support for UNCT as it completed its first UNCT SWAP scorecard exercise and submit its report. And, And contribution to ensuring gender dimensions on key outcomes for the new cooperation framework of UN Philippines.
