Active in Lebanon since 2017, UN Women works across the humanitarian, development, peace and security nexus to support national efforts to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals in Lebanon. More specifically, UN Women Lebanon, together with UN agencies, government and civil society organisations, works to address the needs of vulnerable populations living in Lebanon – Lebanese, refugees and others – to meet their urgent needs. UN Women Lebanon also seeks to bolster women’s participation in decision-making at all levels, at the household and community levels, in political leadership roles, and in peace and security matters. Altogether, UN Women’s work in Lebanon is largely undertaken through the following focus areas: Women’s Economic Empowerment, Women's Political Participation, Women, Peace and Security, Men and Women for Gender equality, Humanitarian Impact, Intergovernmental support, UN system coordination.
