As the Lead Agency of the Spotlight initiative Haiti, UN Women-Haiti continue to play its role of coordination through permanent dialogue with national stakeholders on the program’s progress and joint coordination mechanisms between UN Women, UNDP, UNFPA, and UNICEF, though also a Permanent Civil Society Reference Group (CSRG). These mechanisms helped in the advocating, advising, and providing technical and strategic orientation for the achievement of the Spotlight Program in Haiti. In terms of joint programming, UN Women-Haiti has benefited jointly with OMS/OPS in partnership with Fondation TOYA (a local NGO) a financing up to 1.5 M USD to contribute to reducing community violence through a strengthening of the social leadership of young women victims of conflict, fostered by access to psychosocial well-being. This 18-month project will consider the multiple vulnerabilities of 30,000 direct beneficiaries including those to be mobilized in the case of community awareness campaigns planned at outcome 3 level (80% of whom are women and girls, victims of conflict and survivors of GBV, including those living with disabilities). Moreover, as the Lead Agency of the Effect 3 - Gender and Protection of UNDSF, the Country Office continues to ensure a better gender mainstreaming in the 2023 – 2027 UNDSF process with several trainings and workshops on gender-sensitive programming. UNW also put a consultant – GenCAP- at the disposal of UN System to strengthen all UN partners ‘capacity to improve the gender mainstreaming in humanitarian plan. These supports, started in Q4, will continue over 2022 while developing the new UNDSF. It also important to underline that the CO continue to disseminate the SWAP Gender Equality Scorecard results and a Gender Equality Roadmap has been elaborated. Finally, UN women in its role of the Lead Agency of the Gender Thematic Group (GTG) and Secretary of the Technical and Financial Partners' Group on Gender has been coordinated and organized a joint commemoration of the 25th international Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence with the Ministry of Women affairs. Several activities were carried out with state actors, women organizations, and Civil Society organizations where many men and women were sensitized on the VAW problematic. A draft of a statement was elaborated and approved by both the government and the UN System and has been released as the framing note.
