In 2022, UN Women has strengthened its way of working by focusing on a programmatic approach with more synergies and complementarity. This is illustrated through its positioning as a leader of UN, government and society organizations coordination mechanisms. The SN and the new annual plan materialize this programmatic intervention.
Enhanced coordination, coherence and accountability of the UN system for gender equality commitments
In 2021, UN Women’s coordination work was strengthened through inter-agency coordination. In early 2021, UN Women with the support of the Resident Coordinator’s Office launched the gender scorecard for Niger, this process allowed a coherent coordination not only with UNW Country Office but within UNCT. Another crucial process for UN Women in 2021 was its effective gender mainstreaming in the Common Country Analysis (CCA). During this process, UN Women was able to reinforce SDG5 towards the country analysis, providing specific, relevant information and data related to gender. UN Women Niger in 2021, the same year it transformed into a country office and the office was able to position itself in terms of strategic positioning and its effectiveness in its coordination mandate.
