Cameroon has a Gender Inequality Index value of 0.560, ranking it 141 out of 162 countries in the 2019 index. The country has achieved a certain level of economic diversification although it is still vulnerable to external shocks. Progress in human development is to be noted, however the level of quality and inclusive human capital for Vision 2035 has not yet been reached. At the social level and despite the efforts made, gender-based violence is still observed in all sectors and inequalities persist between the rich and the poor, men and women, and between regions, particularly in access to health, education and employment.
