ABOUT OUR WORK

El Salvador Banner Image 2

UN Women in El Salvador works since 2013. The four thematic areas of strategic impact contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Framework 2022-2026, and are aligned with the UN Women's Strategic Plan, in the following key areas: 1. Governance & Participation in Public Life; 2. Women’s Economic Empowerment; 3. Ending Violence Against Women; 4. Women peace and security, Humanitarian & Disaster Risk Reduction. In the four areas of impact, our work adheres the principle of leaving no one behind (LNOB), considering the national context, its situation of vulnerability and the focus of UN Women's work in the next five years.

UN Women El Salvador works in coordination with the State, UN agencies, CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) and private sector partners to advance the mandate of UN Women and offer the country results in terms of gender equality, where the country office has a comparative advantage and strengths on women empowerment and equality.
